He further said that his officers will remain on high alert in a bid to deal with those people who want to destabilize the peace in the area.

"We warn all those who want to disturb our peace here that they will be dealt with accordingly and that my officers will always be ready here waiting for them. We will not allow the county to be led by goons who have been hired by some elements to cause disturbance. This will not happen under my watch," said Mr Mshimba.

The police boss was also quick to apologize on behalf of his officers amid criticisms following the killing of three protesters in the county.

He said the officers who will be found responsible for the deaths will be arraigned in court for due process of the law to take its course.

"It is regrettable that some of the protesters lost their lives. The use of live bullets by the officers was uncalled for and we are going to take all the necessary steps to ensure that all those responsible are dealt with accordingly," said Mr Mshimba.

This is the second time in as many days that the OCPD has come under criticisms from the politicians and civil groups alike over the use of too much force by the police in dealing with the protesters.

However, Mr Mshimba justified his decisions on the fact that he wants to protect the business of people.
