Kiambu OCPD Mutune Maweu has asked business owners to put in place security measures and keep data of their customers.
Addressing the press at Kiambu own on Tuesday, the OCPD said that business owners must work with government to unravel insecurity and terror scares.
“We have directed owners of hotels, guest houses, supermarkets and other premises to put in place adequate security mechanisms,” he said.
The OCPD said they will not take anything to chance especially on matters security.
He said that the move is meant to ensure security of every citizen conducting business in the town.
Maweu further asked Kiambu residents to be on high alert and provide information that will help curb criminals.
The OCPD said that security is a responsibility of every Kenyan and that citizens must unite towards fighting the enemy.
Maweu said they are working closely with the national government adding that security will be boosted in all schools in the town.
He said that police will not allow criminals to cause havoc and terrorise Kenyans stating that they will use the resources they have to keep criminals at bay.
The OCPD further asked security guards manning various installations and premises in the town to be vigilant.
He cautioned them against concentrating on their phones and instead urged them to be alert and seek police support when they suspect threats.
