Simba speaking on Sunday when he toured Makongeni Phase 5 estate where a businessman identified as James Ndung’u aged 55 was shot dead, said police officers have a task to flush out criminals from the region.

“Police officers have a task to ensure no criminals are left to hide in any of the villages in the region for the sake of ensuring locals and their properties are safe. More security patrols will be done day and night to flush out the gangs,” he said.

The OCPD urged members of the public to report and strangers or suspected criminals to police for interrogation to be done.

"We don’t want more people to lose their lives in the hands of armed thugs. Members of the public should work with police closely and help with crucial information that will lead to the arrest of criminals,” added Simba.

He said residents should be calm as police strategizes to end crime completely not only in Thika Sub County but also Kiambu County as a whole.

Simba said not even criminals are above the law. He called on local chiefs and Nyumba Kumi officials to be more vigilant to report thugs to police
