Nakuru OCPD Joshua Omukata has refuted claims that the police failed to ensure justice for Rahab Wairimu.
Wairimu reported at the Bondeni Police Station after her house was broken into and her belongings stolen.
“They say am a single mother who is proud, so they decided to teach me a lesson by torching my belongings and those of my children. However, I reported the matter to the Bondeni police station,” she said.
Rahab said police treated her case with laxity.
“The question I ask myself is how will we live…as Kenyans when I am crying for justice without any response? I just pray that Justice will prevail,” she said.
Nakuru OCPD however said the complainant had withdrew the case.
“I know the lady indeed reported the matter to the police but then she latter came and withdrew the case citing that she knew those involved and wanted to solve the matter at home amicably and therefore let us not blame the police,” he said.
