Matungulu Sub-county OCPD Joseph Chesire has called upon residents in the region to embrace the ‘nyumba kumi’ initiative as a way of curbing rising insecurity in the area.
Chesire was speaking on Friday morning in Tala location, while addressing residents at a crime scene, after a middle aged man was found murdered and dumped in the area.
“If everyone will embrace ‘nyumba kumi’ initiative, cases like this will not be witnessed in our region. The initiative is a move to curb insecurity experienced in our society level by criminals hiding within our premises,” said Chesire.
Confirming the unfortunate incident, the police boss stated that a middle aged man had been found killed in a field in Tala town by unknown people with major physical injuries.
The victims’ private parts had also been cut-off.
“Residents alerted the police today early in the morning after they found a body of a man in the field. The man has not yet been identified but he had major injuries on the head and his private parts had been chopped off,” said Chesire.
Police from Tala retrieved the body and took it to Kangundo Hospital Mortuary, as investigations of situations behind his murder are launched.
