Lari town OCS Peter Ouko has appealed to bodaboda riders to partner with the police and help fight crime being reported in the town.
Addressing bodaboda riders at Lari Town on Friday, Ouko alleged that criminals are colluding with some bodaboda riders.
He said police have information that some riders are disguising as bodaboda riders when in real sense they are criminals.
Ouko said that police are prepared to pounce on them once their investigation is complete. The OCS asked boda boda riders to expose those they feel are a threat to security.
He said that security officers are closely monitoring the activities of bodaboda riders within the town.
Ouko noted that several cases where bodaboda riders are attacked and robbed have been reported to his office.
“Let those colluding with criminals know that we are closely watching their steps,” he warned.
Ouko advised locals using bodaboda services to be careful and demand information from the riders before boarding their bikes. He said that the move will help in tracking down criminals who pose as riders.
He stated that the government will not tire up in its efforts to secure the area.
