President Uhuru Kenyatta has added his voice on NASA leader Raila Odinga move to withdraw from the October 26 repeat polls.
The Head of State was speaking on Tuesday during a campaign rally in Taita Taveta county flanked by county governor Granton Samboja and former governor Mrutu
"Naskia sasa umesema umewithdraw baada yakutupeleka huku na kule tumetumia pesa mabilioni yenye tungetumia kwa maendeleo na sasa unasema hutaki tena(We have heard that you have withdrawn after taking us in circles, the billion of shillings we could have used on development now have been wasted)," said Uhuru.
It is the people rights to elect the leader of their choice whether you are there or not, there is no portion of the Constitution that states that elections cannot be conducted if Raila does not participate," he added.
Uhuru maintained that on October 26, Kenyans will go to the ballot to elect their leader.
Deputy President William Ruto also echoed Uhuru's sentiments and urged that given Raila's withdrawal then Uhuru should be declared the president unopposed.
