Top Nairobi rapper Henry Ohanga, commonly referred to by his stage name Octopizzo now wants Kenyan youths to revolt as the country wallows in back to back scandals that have claimed billion dollars according to recent revelations.
Over the past one week, Kenyans across the political divide have launched an online protest against wanton graft in top government departments. Case in point is the latest 9 billion shillings National Youth Service (NYS) scam and 1 billion shillings lost at the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB).
Octopizzo, however, believes the youth community must get out of their comfort zone- online attacks and begin a ground revolution against merchants of corruption.
He said on Twitter: #NomaNi all we do these days is tweet about #NYSscandal but few tweeps have the balls to start a PRACTICAL revolution. It’s TIME! It’s time to DEMAND #accountability, or else after a month tutakua tushasahau hii story Raila Odinga, Uhuru Kenyatta Rada gani?"
Even with the furry at the loss of public funds, Kenyans are largely divided. Some support aggressive civil action whilst others opine it is time for the country to eat its humble pie after electorates voted for questionable characters into office during the 2017 election.
