reports claim that Oburu has been using the Odinga family name to campaign for some candidates.

It is based on this claims that Suba Council of Elders has come out to claim the behavior by Oburu perpetrating voter apathy in selected areas may affect Raila Odinga's bid for the top seat.

The elder who addressed journalists in Homa Bay town on Monday expressed their displeasure in efforts by Oburu to endorse Suba MP John Mbadi who is set face former Raila chief of staff Caroli Omondi for the seat.

Mbadi has apparently asked Omondi to step done in his quest for the parliamentary seat.

Nominated MP Oburu Odinga.

"Caroli should not make Mbadi sweat so much for this seat. I can negotiate with him to drop his bid,"  said Oburu earlier.

However, the elders led by their chairman Simon Kayako and Secretary Jacob Mang'ira, expressed concerns that Oburu's sentiments were from Raila.

"We are worried that Oburu came here to endorse Mbadi for this seat. many Suba residents will tend to think that he has been sent by Raila who is the political supremo in the region. We do not agree with him," said Kayako.

"We need ODM MPs and officials to let Suba people elect leaders of their choice. It does not matter whether it is Caroli or Mbadi who wins the ODM ticket, the most important thing is that we need neutrality in the nominations," they said.
