Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has asked Kalenjin community to forgive him and consider supporting his presidential bid in August elections.

Despite voting for him overwhelmingly in 2007 elections, Odinga struggled to score in the Rift Valley region following his acrimonious fallout with DP William Ruto.

And having made new alliances among them with CCM leader Isaac Rutto, Odinga has urged the Kalenjin nation to forget the past and focus on changing Kenya for the better of their children.

“Ruto said I am the one who took him to ICC and later on I was vindicated. This was just a little misunderstanding that was created by some people.

“Although we all know the truth, I solely take the blame and ask you to forgive me on what happened. Kenya deserves better leadership and I want you to be part of it,” he further said.

During the hotly contested 2007 elections, thousands of Kenyans were displaced from Rift Valley regions with scores dying in skirmishes that rocked most parts of the country.

In Rift Valley, Odinga is trying to consolidate his lost glory and Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto has been his point’s man along with Emurua Dikir MP Johanna Ng’eno.
