Opposition leader Raila Odinga maintains that he remains the favorite among the Abagusii community adding that Jubilee administration had no space in the vote rich region.
In 2013, Odinga managed to scoop over 70 percent of votes to Uhuru’s 26 percent and he is keen to increase his tally in August.
Despite the inroads made by Jubilee in the region, Odinga cautioned Jubilee leaders to divert their attention elsewhere adding that he was sure of victory.
“I hear that Uhuru and Ruto are camping here in my absence. Will you continue entertaining them?” asked Odinga during a rally at Rigoma ward on Sunday.
He added: “You are my people and I depend on you. This is my home and those guys should keep off. They are not welcome and you should tell them that.”
While Odinga is banking on Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire and Kisii Governor James Ongwae, Uhuru Kenyatta is working closely with Senator Chris Obure of Kisii.
Jubilee strategists had earmarked Nyamira and Kisii Counties as tossups, a move that was dismissed by Odinga.
