Former Prime Minister was undoubtedly the winner of presidential election debate that was held on Monday evening after him main rival, president Uhuru Kenyatta failed to turn up.
Odinga, who is running for the fourth time, enjoyed a 90-minutes question answer session that was after all meant for him and Kenyatta.
It is not clear why Kenyatta decided to give the debate a wide berth, despite early indications showing that he was likely to attend.
And with millions of TV and Radio consumers following keenly, Odinga had a chance to express himself before Kenyans especially, the undecided lots.
“He carried the day and Uhuru will regret that. Many people who watch TVs are the informed lots and they will punish him,” says Gideon Mamboleo.
He adds: “Odinga had a perfect opportunity and you will definitely see his rating surging forward by next week.”
Recent opinion polls by Infrotract placed Odinga at 47 percent and Kenyatta at 46 percent while those of Ipsos Synovate placed Odinga at 43 percent with Kenyatta enjoying a whopping 47 percent.
