Opposition Chief Raila Odinga has linked Jubilee administration to protests that erupted in Kakamega Town on Monday over opposition alliance NASA’s flag bearer.
Hundreds of people believed to be Musalia Mudavadi’s supporters dismissed the idea of creating a Chief Minister position for the former Vice President in NASA lineup.
A leaked document showed that the NASA technical committee had settled on Odinga as flag bearer and Kalonzo Musyoka as running mate with Mudavadi awarded a position of Chief Minister, which though isn’t provided for by the constitution.
“This is the work of our enemies: The National Intelligence Service,” said Mr. Odinga during Tuesday’s press conference.
“The way those banners are done, they could not have come from Kakamega. They are from NIS. Even then, Nasa is united and we will not be distracted by a few people who then have their right of expression,” he added.
With just five months away to August polls, the four Nasa principals will retreat to Mombasa where they will have advanced talks on a lineup that can beat Jubilee government.
