Opposition leader Raila Odinga has warned Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet against interfering with political issues given he is a public servant.

Recently, Boinnet warned that his officers would not allow political parties to install excess agents in polling stations during voting.

But in a quick rejoinder, Odinga warned that he would not allow the IG to meddle in politics given his position in government.

“I want to warn Boinnet that he is not a politician. He should leave politics to politicians and concentrate on marinating security of the nation,” said Odinga in Kitale on Thursday.

He further said: “He is a public servant and should keep off. We shall go ahead with our plan to ensure that our votes are guarded.”

NASA has come up with ‘Adopt polling station’ strategy that would see five people stay at a single polling centre to avert rigging.

The five committee member will report directly to the parallel tallying center in Nairobi where results will be tallied concurrently with those of IEBC.
