ODM leader Raila Odinga has once again been drawn to the controversy surround party nominations that ended on Sunday.
Although he has kept silent on the matter, Odinga’s Nyanza bedrock witnessed fierce competition among his close allies, a move that almost threatens his support.
And having lost in Nyamira governor John Nyagarama, Mr. James Gesami, the West Mugirango MP says Odinga failed to manage polls.
‘’The buck stops with him (Odinga). He is the party leader and all mismanagement must be directed on him,” said the former Nyamira ODM branch chair.
Gesami added: “It is not just in Nyamira but the entire Nyanza. The mayhem was orchestrated by his right hand men and that is unacceptable.”
Gesami scored 12, 106 votes, losing to Nyagarama who was declared winner with 17,800 votes and has since ditched the party to contest as an independent.
Also affected in alleged botched elections in Nyanza include Ochilo Ayacko, Jakoyo Midiwo, Oyugi Magwanga among others.
