Deputy President William Ruto has yet again reignited a war of words with opposition leader Raila Odinga saying that he will not deliver even an MCA seat.

Having had three unsuccessful attempts at presidency, Odinga is keen to win this year’s elections where he pledges to serve as a transitional president.

At Taita Taveta, Ruto accused Odinga of running out of ideas and challenged him to retire to avoid ‘embarrassing’ defeat in August.

“That old man cannot even deliver an MCA seat. I don’t know why he is wasting a lot of time campaigning,” he said.

He added: “He will suffer an embarrassing defeat if he insists facing us. He has run short of ideas and time has come for him to retire.”

Just barely a week, the two leaders had met in different functions and vowed to work together including declaring ceasefire.

Rivalry between the two has always degenerated to ugly scenes with Odinga facing tough times at Baringo last week while Ruto could hardly address a gathering in Kisumu.
