Speaking on AM Live Tuesday morning, Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot accused the former Prime Minister of hiding behind the national bridge-building campaign in an attempt to realize his political goals for the nearing 2022 general elections.

The initiative was kicked off by the March 9 truce between the Orange party chief and President Uhuru Kenyatta, with the lawmaker now claiming that it is having a second hidden side aimed at serving Odinga.

''We have realized that the handshake is two-sided. The first side is aimed at addressing our national shortcomings while the other is political and is being used by Odinga to lay a platform for his 2022 ambitions,'' he revealed.

He noted that the Jubilee side will not allow for the continuation of the same, but confirmed that they are in full support of the union agenda co-led by the two national leaders.

''We are ready and willing to support the national cohesion agenda but will not entertain people trying to use the handshake to play political games. We will counter it,'' he added.
