Having graciously accepted his nickname Joshua, in reference to Biblical Joshua, ODM leader Raila Odinga has also creatively found a nickname to his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka.

The duo will face President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto in what will be a rematch of 2013 elections where they lost with a slim margin.

And on Sunday, Raila said he had already sent his ‘Caleb’ to prepare the way for him, an analogy that he makes with reference to Biblical Caleb, who had been sent by Joshua to spy on Israelites enemies.

“This is a done deal and I want to assure you that Kalonzo Musyoka, who is my Caleb, has already done enough to ensure we cross to Canaan.

“Kenyans have been going through a lot and this is the time to ensure we strengthen our economy by voting Jubilee out. They have failed to deliver the country from all sorts of economic evils,” he added.

In Jacaranda grounds, thousands of NASA supporters endured heavy rains to listen to opposition leaders moments after they handed their nomination papers.

Odinga will be making his fourth and perhaps the final stab at presidency after three previous unsuccessful attempts.
