Opposition leader Raila Odinga on Monday hailed President Uhuru Kenyatta for providing a ‘conducive’ atmosphere for campaigns.
The two political protagonists are set to face each other for the second time in less than five years with opinion polls showing a close contest.
Ahead of Tuesday’s elections, Odinga said the campaigns were peaceful with minimum interference by the authorities.
“I want to congratulate my brother Uhuru Kenyatta for providing adequate support to all candidates by allowing free and fair campaigns.
“We have had very little commotion and I am happy that we ended well. As usual, I expect all of us to concede defeat in free, fair and transparent elections,” he said.
While Odinga is banking on Jubilee failures to capitalize for his election, Uhuru is confident of winning based on his development agenda.
Both candidates have in several forums agreed unanimously to concede defeat should the outcome go against their will.
