The much anticipated address by the National Super Alliance leader Raila Odinga has yet again been delayed after an attack on Citizen TV Journalist Francis Gachuri.
Opposition leader Raila Odinga had cancelled the announcement on Monday, rescheduling it to Tuesday.
And with the nation waiting for his next course after declaration of President Uhuru Kenyatta as winner of the October elections, NASA is said to have delayed the declaration after massive walkout by the media.
Jubilee blogger Pauline Njoroge was the first to report an incident in which Gachuri is said to have been attacked by supporters allied to Odinga as preparations for the announcement geared.
"We condemn the attack on the media and we shall take action against those involved. We are reviewing our next move and this will take some time. We urge our supporters to wait," wrote Philip Etale in ODM Whatsap group.
Reporters from various media houses worked out in protest following the unfortunate incident, forcing the opposition team to halt the declaration that was due at 3:30pm on Tuesday.
Although it is not yet clear what step Odinga is likely to take, analysts argue that he may challenge the victory in Supreme Court.
KTN news reporter Chris Thaeru has confirmed the incident adding that a number of other Photojournalists were also attacked for allegedly leaning towards Jubilee.
"They beat Gachuri by accusing him of supporting Jubilee and I was lucky because I have covered most of their demonstrations," he said.
