Police have allegedly detained opposition leader Raila Odinga at the house of embattled businessman Jimmy Wanjigi at Muthaiga home.
Odinga had visited Wanjigi, who is under police scrutiny over alleged possession of illegal guns at around 7pm on Tuesday.
And Salim Lone, an advisor to Odinga confirmed that Odinga had not been allowed by the police to leave Wanjigi’s place.
“I have not been able to talk to Odinga or his daughter Winnie who had accompanied him. I cannot confirm anything other than Odinga is still at Wanjigi’s home,” he said.
“I am told that they say he cannot leave the compound and as you know, he lost his security details without any cause,” he added.
At around 4am when Lone wrote the presser, Odinga was still at Wanjigi's house although sources say he was allowed to leave an hour later.
Although the information is subject to confirmation, it is however not clear why they have not allowed him to leave.
For the better part of Tuesday, Wanjigi’s house was ransacked by the police who also guarded his Kwacha offices in Westland’s.
