Opposition leader Raila Odinga has yet again launched a scathing attack on President Uhuru Kenyatta over the manner in which he handled.
Nkaissery 67 died on Friday evening g in a Nairobi hospital and upon his death, he was serving as Interior Coordination Cabinet Secretary.
In his condolences message, Odinga wondered why the president had to replace the deceased minister in a press conference that was meant to condole with the family.
“I am quite shocked that the President had to replace Nkaissery in a Press Conference that was meant to condole with the family,” he said.
Odinga added: “This is quite shameful because we are mourning and then someone makes a serious pronouncement.”
Uhuru replaced Nkaissery with Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i on an acting capacity moments after his unprecedented death.
The outspoken minister was pouched by Kenyatta from Odinga’s ODM party in 2015 after serving as Kajiado Central MP for over eight years to serve in the Interior Security docket.
