A re-energized opposition team NASA has made a surprise U - turn by calling for immediate resignation of IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati, whom they accuse of 'electoral fraud'.
Moments after the nullification of August polls, a spirited opposition spared Chebukati, and instead directed their fury on Chief executive Ezra Chiloba who they accused of bungling the elections.
"We shall push for removal of Chebukati because we now don't want him to conduct an election. We shall ensure Kenya goes for polls in 90 days time," said Orengo, a confident of Raila Odinga.
Prior to October polls, Chebukati had admitted to the nation that he was unable to conduct free and credible polls, adding that most commissioners were frustrating his job.
But after going ahead with the polls which Odinga had withdrawn, the opposition team now says they will ensure the embattled chairman vacates office.
"He failed to make judgement when Kenya needed him the most but now we have no option other than to send him home," added Johnstone Muthama.
Should IEBC declare Uhuru Kenyatta the winner, they said, NASA will proceed to swear in Odinga as president based on August outcome which they say Odinga won.
With the country experiencing voter apathy following Odinga's call for boycott, IEBC is yet to conduct elections in four counties.
