Opposition chief Raila Odinga has called for calm among NASA supporters regarding the ongoing onslaught on Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula.
This comes after senators from Odinga's Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party on Thursday passed a motion seeking to unseat the Ford Kenya party leader as the Senate Minority boss. However, addressing mourners during the burial ceremony of Professor Oeri Tumbo in Kisii County on Friday, Raila termed the new development which is further threatening NASA’s unity as a "small issue" that will be solved soon."The debate about Moses Wetangula is a small issue, it’s just a case of disagreement but will soon be solved," said Odinga. He also rubbished claims that his ODM party has joined the ruling Jubilee side, as a result of his recent meeting and peace agreement with President Uhuru Kenyatta. The former Prime Minister maintained that the meeting was only aimed at stabilising national unity, adding that he is still deeply rooted in NASA."Nobody is going anywhere. Myself, Moses Wetangula, Musalia Mudavadi and Kalonzo Musyoka are still in NASA," he added. The other three NASA affiliate parties; Amani National Congress (ANC), Wiper and Ford Kenya have since accused ODM of overlooking them, threatening to exclude it from the alliance.
