Nominated MP Oburu Odinga has distanced himself from accusations that he influenced the outcome of the just concluded ODM Party primaries in Nyanza region.
Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo accused Oburu of orchestrating his political downfall that led to his loss of the ODM Party ticket to little-known Elisha Odhiambo.
Speaking in Mombasa on Monday, Oburu noted that Midiwo's bid to control Nyanza politics had led to his devastating loss, adding that Odhiambo had won fairly in the hotly contested primaries.
“Really, it is his own mistake because he wants to be a kingmaker all over Nyanza, because he was hopping around in a chopper trying to insult candidates,” he said.
“He lost fairly to Elisha Odhiambo. Now he wants to cry, he wants to blame whoever he wants to blame. But he has himself to blame," he added.
Mr Odhiambo garnered 13,400 votes, against Midiwo's 8,900 votes.
