Opposition leader may be dealt with a blow should he endorse ongoing party primaries across the country especially on governorship, claims Prof Nyachieo Bogonko.

With August elections close, the Orange party has been struggling to stab its authority in Kenyan politics with its supporters crying foul in many regions.

And Bogongo now says the ODM leader should eat a humble pie and speak on the ongoing ODM primaries across the country.

“He should not hide and leave the fire burning. We have all seen incumbent governors being favored even after provisional results showing that they have lost,” he said.

“You saw it in Busia, Nyamira and Taita Taveta only now that it has extended t Homabay and Migori. Maybe he wants incumbents to perhaps oil his campaigns in August,” he added.

In Busia, Sospeter Ojamoong was declared winner despite provisional results projecting that he lost to Funyala MP Paul Otuoma. Similar scenario was replicated in Nyamira where incumbent John Nyagarama miraculously won even with many regions not voting.

In Taita Taveta where incumbent John Mruttu lost to MP Thomas Mwendegu, results were upheld and closer in Nyanza, Migori and Homabay governorship where incumbents Okoth Okoth Obado and Cyprian Awiti won, residents have gone to streets.

And Bogonko says the confusion could cost ODM crucial electoral seats in August elections.
