Opposition leader Raila Odinga has challenged his NASA co-principals to avoid ‘unnecessary’ demands but instead focus of beating Jubilee administration in August.
With only five months to elections, the opposition leaders are reportedly embroiled in a limbo over the choice of presidential flag bearer.
Despite assuring their supporters of remaining united, the tem seems to be in a major crisis with former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka maintaining that he will not go for anything short of presidency.
And Kalonzo’s hard stand could have informed Raila’s warning to the opposition team on Tuesday.
“Our only enemy is Uhuru Kenyatta and his team. If we fight among ourselves, we are losing the plot,” said Odinga adding that the leaders should focus on winning presidency.
The veteran leader added: “In Luo, we say hunters first go for their prey before agreeing who should take what. They do not divide among themselves anything before they get it.”
Even though Odinga has not openly talked about reported disunity within the opposition, sources however say he is keen to secure NASA ticket.
A technical committee constituted by Musyoka, Odinga, Moses Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi has reportedly had talks hit a snug with members unable to agree on modalities of choosing flag bearer.
