Raila Odinga maintains that Gusii region remains an ODM zone despite concerted efforts by Jubilee administration to invade the vote rich region.
Last week, President Kenyatta toured the region and exuded confidence that his development record would enable him to scoop votes from both Nyamira and Kisii counties.
Having named the two counties tossup regions, Jubilee strategists are also using a formidable group of politicians led by Senator Chris Obure to deliver.
“I have confidence that Gusii region remains in OD despite their efforts,” said Odinga, who was due to officially close Lake Region Health and Investment forum.
He added: “Most of projects in this region among them infrastructure was done during my time as roads minister or Prime Minister. They have done totally nothing.”
During the 2013 polls, Odinga scored slightly over 70 percent of votes from both counties a part from his party winning a number of seats.
And in recent weeks, the ODM party, despite losing a number of its key allies, managed to recruit Sam Ongeri, a former Kenyan ambassador to UN Habitat.
