Opposition leader Raila Odinga took his campaigns in the vast Baringo County on Wednesday, days after President Uhuru Kenyatta toured the region.
What started as a rather jovial tour turned chaotic however in the later hours of evening when he toured Kabarnet town.
But in Eldama Ravine and Chemolingot, Odinga received heroic welcome and addressed a number of issues ranging from hunger to insecurity.
“Jubilee has failed to curb hunger and insecurity across the country. That is why I have come to ask for your vote,” he said.
Odinga added: “The rest of the country is moving with us. It is now your obligation to choose to work with us or the failed government.”
The region has been witnessing intensive KDF operation that targets to flush out cattle bandits but with claims that the mission has been targeting civilians.
But at Kabarnet, locals claimed that they disrupted the rally after news came in that DP William Ruto had been heckled in Odinga’s Kisumu home turf.
