Deputy President William Ruto claims that Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto will be bungled out of elective politics due to his decision to ‘defy’ his advises in recent years.
While President Uhuru Kenyatta is banking on Ruto to deliver Rift Valley voting basket, opposition leader Raila Odinga is working closely with Governor Rutto.
At Kuresoi on Monday, the DP said he will not be shocked should he see Rutto losing his governorship seat since he was ‘bewitched’ by Odinga.
”There are a few of us like Rutto who were bewitched by Odinga and I don’t see them succeeding after August,” he said amid laughter.
The DP added: “It is unfortunate that he will be in cold for five more years but I have nothing to regret about it because that is the reality.”
Although the two worked together in 2013 polls, Governor Rutto bolted out of Jubilee Alliance over what he termed as Jubilee’s ‘poor attitude’ towards devolution.
He is defending his seat on a Chama Cha Mashinani ticket and would face Sotik MP Joyce Laboso, who is carrying Jubilee flag.
