A Jubilee MP now wants women contesting for positions in opposition leader Raila Odinga’s ODM party to quit and join rival parties.
Cecil Mbarire of Runyenjes also claims the veteran opposition leader lacks respect for women by subjecting them to unnecessary political ‘torture’
And in reference to embattled nominated senator Elizabeth Ongoro, Mbarire backed her move to ditch ODM party for ANC.
“Raila Odinga hates women and time has come for them to look for friendly parties. He is never straight and always subjects them to torture,” said Mbarire.
She added” Ongoro is right and I want to challenge her to pursue her dreams. It cannot be narrowed to Odinga’s desire.”
In its recent ruling, the ODM disciplinary committee banned Ms. Ongoro from contesting in Ruaraka constituency on grounds that she had propelled violence that resulted to the death of two people.
But in response, the former Kasarani MP made a quick shift to ANC party where she maintained that she will be in the race.
