Mr. Odinga lost longtime ally and Kisii Senator Chris Obure and Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi in the recent defections to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee party.

Speaking in Borabu constituency on Sunday, Odinga slammed the two leaders questioning their intention to join a party that had allegedly ‘sidelined’ Gusii community.

“My good friend Obure and Maangi have a right to join Jubilee but they must tell you any development that the people of Gusii have benefited from this tribal ridden government,” said Odinga amidst cheers from the crowd.

“They are only hiding from their failures by begging the government to initiate development in this region. They should never cheat you and I am confident that you will teach them a lesson in 2017 polls,” Odinga added.

The Former Prime Minister urged Gusii residents to reject attempts of Jubilee government making inroads to the regions insisting that it remained an ODM stronghold.
