Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party Chief Raila Odinga has lauded his supporters for helping him clinch the National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential ticket.
Speaking during a live interview Odinga said that the hearty following he enjoys from his fan base played a vital role in drafting the final NASA lineup. The 2013 presidential candidate however insisted that he is a number one among equals.
“My supporters exhibited great confidence in me but it could have been Moses Wetangula or Kalonzo Musyoka,” Raila said.
The former Prime Minister thanked the other four co-principals for giving him an opportunity to lead them to the final liberation of Kenya.
“I thank my other co-principals in NASA knowing that am not the best but am the first among equals. I want to be a leader and they have given me the armband thus will lead well,” Odinga added.
Odinga survived an onslaught from Ukambani that was demanding a Musyoka candidature. The group was led by Hon Francis Nyenze.
However, Nyenze has retreated and said he was misunderstood. There was also calls for Mudavadi to be named the NASA boss.
However, the dust settled immediately Raila Odinga was named the flag bearer. The groups have promised to remain united.
