Raila Odinga says his advanced age will not deter him from serving Kenyans well if he is elected president in August.

Odinga 72 is set for his forth and perhaps the final attempt on presidency after three unsuccessful attempts with the closest coming in 2007.

Speaking in Kericho on Thursday, Odinga accused President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto of judging him based on age rather than performance.

“Uhuru should know that you can be young but old thinking wise. I am old but sharper than them,” he said in reference to Jubilee administration record.

“In fact, his father became president at five years old than my current age and he served for fifteen years,” added Odinga.

The founding president Jomo Kenyatta was installed president at the age of 74 and served for fifteen years before his demise.

Under the NASA agreement, Odinga is set to serve as president for a single term after which he is supposed to support is running mate Kalonzo Musyoka.
