Raila Odinga says he is ‘used’ to heckling in political rallies and that he will only be worried if people do not absorb his messages in such circumstances.
Odinga, who is also the opposition presidential flag bearer, had a bad week after being jeered in government strongholds.
And speaking after the Thika and Githurai incidents on Thursday where he abandoned his speeches due to hostility, Odinga said he was optimistic that Kenyans will vote out Jubilee government.
“Yes I had a bad day at Thika and Githurai where clearly an organized gang disrupted our rallies. As a seasoned politician, such incidents are common.
“I will only be worried if they don’t take my message seriously. We respect their right to picket but it is sad they are even going to an extent of throwing stones at us,” he added.
At Kabarnet on Wednesday, Odinga was also forced to abandon his rally following resistance from a section of locals who jeered him.
Similar incidents have also marred Jubilee rallies across the country with the latest coming on Wednesday when rowdy youths stoned presidential motorcade in Kisumu.
