Opposition leader Raila Odinga now wants Nairobi residents to reelect Governor Evans Kidero because he is ‘ideal’ for the job.
The city governor is facing fierce competition from Senator Mike Sonko of Jubilee and former presidential candidate Peter Kenneth who is running as an independent.
In his several stop overs in the Western side of the city on Monday, Odinga dismissed Sonko’s chances claiming that he was unfit to serve.
“I know you will vote for me as president and it will be embossing if Sonko is the welcome to welcome me back whenever I am out of the country.
“Nairobi needs Kidero because he has laid a foundation that will bear fruits from now onwards. I trust his leadership and that is what we have to do in August,” said Odinga.
During the trip, Odinga also endorsed senatorial aspirant Edwin Sifuna and outspoken Women Representative aspirant Esther Passaris.
The opposition party is also keen to take control of the cosmopolitan city by winning majority of MCA and MP positions.
