Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga has denied claims that he has been shielding Governors from opposition strongholds over graft.
A number of counties under the leadership of opposition governors have been linked with graft with Kilifi County being the latest.
Responding to questions fielded by Journalists, Odinga said he warned the county bosses about graft; citing Kisumu County as a case study where he invited Ethics and Anti-Corruption Agency (EACC) to investigate alleged graft.
“CORD invited EACC to investigate Kisumu County when we suspected corruption. However, However, they never turned up only for the Senate to take responsibility,” he said.
“I have always told them that we do not condone corruption. Whenever we hear some of them are linked to scandals, we will be ready to push for their prosecution,” he added.
Odinga urged Jubilee government to borrow a leaf from Kilifi County government by naming officials involved in the Ministry of Health scandal.
