Opposition leader Raila Odinga now wants IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati to expunge names of ‘ghost’ voters from the voter register in three weeks’ time.

Last week, an audit done by KPMG identified thousands of dead people still in the register and warned that they might ‘vote’ if not expunged from the list.

And on Saturday, Odinga warned that his party will disown results should IEBC fail to rectify the anomaly before elections.

“I have said again and again that IEBC should clean the register before elections. We have many people who had died yet they remain in the register.

“I am giving them only 21 days to clear the mess. We want elections where the genuine winner is given victory. Never again shall we condone rigged elections,” said Odinga.

In 2013, Odinga claimed that over a million ‘dead’ people were allowed to vote resulting to massive rigging of presidential elections.

Odinga is set to battle with President Uhuru Kenyatta in August, a typical rematch of 2013 polls in which he lost.
