Orange Democratic Party (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga has issued a stern warning to all politicians and incumbents eyeing political slots on the party tickets that they will face serious consequences if they perpetrate violence in the upcoming nominations.

Speaking in a press conference at the party headquarters at Orange House Tuesday, Raila maintained that the party will not condone any acts of bad conduct in the party nominations set to kick off on Thursday 13.

''I urge all our aspirants to behave well as the nominations near. Those found guilty of violating the party and elections laws to get an upper hand in the exercise will be dealt with,'' said Odinga.

Raila said that all the aspirants have to abide by the rules further saying that the party is a national outfit and will not allow an individual or a group of people to tarnish its reputation.

This comes at a time when the national political temperatures are already on the rise as politicians warm up for party nominations. It also follows a series of political encounters between politicians and their supporters against their rivals with several such cases having been witnessed in different parts of the nation in the recent past.
