Opposition leader Raila Odinga maintains that he will only accept dialogue with President Uhuru Kenyatta if only IEBC opens servers for August 8th elections.
Despite the court order to IEBC to give Odinga’s access to the servers, the electoral body has remained non-committal even after the nullification of presidential results.
At an interview in London, Odinga said he will only honour invitation to dialogue on the current political impasse if Kenyans know the actual winner of August elections.
“I have no problem with sitting and ironing out this issues with Uhuru Kenyatta,” he said, adding that he will continue pushing for IEBC reforms despite the government’s decision to ban protests.
He further said: “I will accept dialogue if IEBC opens servers so that we can know who won in August. That will open the basis for talks.”
Although he has since withdrawn from repeat polls, IEBC has since gazetted him as one of the contestants, a move he termed ‘illegal’.
On his part, Uhuru insists that he is ready for October 26th polls adding that Odinga’s withdrawal will not change the outcome.
