Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga has sensationally claimed that the Jubilee administration is planning to assassinate Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho.
Odinga says that the government has hired ‘men’ similar to those who killed renowned businessman Jacob Juma last year to execute the plan.
Joho, who has been critical of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s regime, had his security details withdrawn earlier this month after nasty exchanges with the president.
“Jubilee plans to execute Joho using hit men similar to those who killed Jacob Juma. I dare them to even try that because they will dearly pay for it,” Odinga told his supporters in Isibania on Thursday.
“We are aware of the plan and I want to assure them that it can’t succeed. They must accept criticism weather favourable or not,” he said without giving further details.
Juma, a fierce critic of Jubilee administration, was murdered by unknown people in Nairobi last year, and the government has not brought his killers into the books of justice.
