A Wiper Democratic Party (WDM) Member of Parliament now says that both the party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and his Orange Democratic Party (ODM) counterpart Raila Odinga will be in the presidential ballot come 2022.
In a phone interview on Citizen Radio on Sunday, Makueni lawmaker Dan Maanzo claimed that the two opposition's National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders will face-off in the 2022 race for state house.
He rubbished any possibilities of any of them backing Deputy President William Ruto, who has since announced his bid, pointing out that the three will actually be seeking to outdo each other in the much anticipated contest.
"None of the three leaders is likely to back the other. NASA leaders Kalonzo Musyoka and Raila Odinga will both be in the race that will also bring on board William Ruto and others," he said.
Regarding Wiper's push for a meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta, a push that has since been endorsed by the remaining Amani National Congress (ANC) and Ford Kenya NASA members, Maanzo maintained that the three parties are commited on having the conversation.
He stressed on the need for the nation to collectively to come up with solutions to its longtime ethnicity menace, and the desire for the compensation of Kenyans who lost their lives and property in last year's post election unrest.
"We cannot downplay the lives of Kenyans which were lost during the post August 8 election skirmishes. This is among the reasons why we want to meet the Kenyatta," he added.
Musyoka and Odinga are, however, yet to publicly announce their bids.
