When he drove to Woodley grounds on Tuesday for a rally, Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga yet again made history when he returned ‘home’, a place which he governed for over two decades.

It was the first official rally towards a presidential election in his for attempts to clinch presidency after three unsuccessful attempts.

Records show that despite having been area MP for many years, Odinga has never held a rally in the region towards elections other than in 1992 when he rallied for his father, Oginga Odinga.

“I am happy to come home. The passion and zeal in my people is always manifested in you fir over years cannot go unrewarded,” Odinga said when addressing a multitude.

“The last time I visited here to campaign for presidency was in 1992 when Jaramogi was vying. I am happy to come for the blessings especially from people who have stood with me for many years.”

Also, it was the first official rally Odinga was involved under the timelines of IEBC since Kibra was split from Lang’ata constituency.

He started his political career in the region and for over two decades, Kibra locals have always backed his leadership.
