Raila Odinga’s NASA coalition has blacklisted IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati months after standing by his side at the expense of CEO Ezra Chiloba and a few officers from ICT department.
With a withdrawn Chebukati accepting to conduct elections following the majority decision by the commission, NASA now wants him out of office.
At Kamukunji grounds on Saturday, Suna East MP Junet Mohammed accused the chairman against allowing ‘intruders’ to take control over the commission.
“We have been tolerating Chebukati because he has tried to defend credibility of elections,” noted Mohammed, a close confident of Raila Odinga.
He added: “If he has failed to take charge, we now want him out as part of our demands. We cannot go to such elections with predetermined mindset.”
During his tour to North Rift, Chebukati said he had to abide by the majority stand in the commission adding that elections will go as planned.
NASA however, insist that Odinga will not take part in the elections until certain ‘irreducible minimums’ are met by the electoral body.
