Opposition leader Raila Odinga now claims that only 3.5 million people turned up for October presidential repeat elections, a claim that had been repeatedly dismissed by IEBC.

Last week, Odinga insisted that 4.7 million people had turned up for voting moments after IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati indicated that the figure was 6.5 million.

"We are now aware that only 3.5 million voters turned up for the voting exercise. The rest is just cooked figure by the commission,'" he said.

When declaring President Uhuru Kenyatta as winner of the repeat poll, IEBC indicated that 7.5 million had cast their votes, an addition of 1 million from the initial projection.

But blogger Robert Alai said on his twitter that Odinga had been given raw data by insiders from IEBC.

"Raila has been given raw data of the exact number of people who voted. There is a bombshell coming and IEBC is on the receiving end," he said.

South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro supported Odinga's latest claim adding that the figure could be even lower.

"In fact, the figure is lower than what Raila is saying. People boycotted the exercise and IEBC and Jubilee should stop these public relations gimmicks."
