With tension locking Busia County after fierce gubernatorial contest between Governor Sospeter Ojamoong and Funyula MP Paul Otuoma, ODM leader Raila Odinga held closed door meeting with Otuoma at undisclosed location.

Initially, chaos erupted in Busia town after thousands of Otuoma supporters disowned results in which Ojamoong was declared winner after reportedly garnering slightly over 92,000 votes against Otuoma’s 63,000 votes.

The declaration also threatened Odinga’s support base with Otuoma supporters warning that they could change their mind should ODM fail to ratify the decision.

A photo posted by Odinga’s spokesperson Dennis Onyango shows Mr. Odinga having talks with Otuoma in undisclosed location on Friday afternoon.

Although the NEB nullified gubernatorial results, Otuoma has not however indicated whether he will participate in the rescheduled exercise that will take place on April 25.

Both Otuoma and Ojamoong are close allies of Mr. Odinga with the former serving as a minister courtesy of Odinga’s appointment and the latter serving at one time as Odinga’s personal aide.

Should Otuoma win the ticket, the Teso community could be in tatters given that Amos Wako, also of Luhya decent has been awarded direct ticket for senatorial seat.sa
