National Super Alliance leader Raila Odinga insists that President Uhuru Kenyatta’s backyard will overwhelmingly vote for the opposition in August.

The region which comprises of Central Kenya and parts of Upper Eastern region is perceived as government stronghold.

But on Thursday when receiving veteran politician Koigi Wamwere, Odinga said the region was a victim of Jubilee’s maladministration and that its traditional supporters have since defected to the opposition.

“Jubilee should forget that Mt. Kenya is their strongholds. Kenyans are having a good share of Jubilee troubles and will back NASA because we stand for them,” he said.

Odinga added: “In August, Kenyans will not vote regions or political parties. They will go for issues and thus Jubilee will go home. We have had enough of them.”

Odinga was unveiled NASA flag bearer and would face Kenyatta in a contest that replicates that of 2013 in which he lost.

Having had three unsuccessful attempts for presidency, Odinga said he would serve as one term president should he be elected in August.
