The manner in which Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka lost in 2013 has attracted several theories. Every political novice, as well as pros, have tried to explain the real reasons behind the loss.
However, Raila Odinga has revealed that Musalia Mudavadi and the Supreme Court were the two factors that ensured UhuRuto won.
The current NASA presidential candidate blamed his co-principal Musalia Mudavadi for the flooring he disputed in 2013. Raila said that if Mudavadi had chosen to back Cord then the 50 + 1 rule could have prevented President Uhuru Kenyatta from assuming power.
Odinga stated that he was sure of a win in case of a runoff. He pointed out the close to 0.5 million votes the ANC leader got as the obstacle in his way to State House. This number could have bridged the ten thousand deficit that denied Cord a win.
Odinga did not spare the Supreme Court. He said that the judicial body messed in its ruling. According to Raila, the entity regrets this decision. This ruling forced him to accept their decision because they had promised to honor the court’s decision.
“I do not want to go to the 2013 history. The Supreme Court regrets its decision,” said Odinga.
