The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga's brother Oburu Odinga and Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka's son Kennedy Musyoka are being fronted for the East Africa Legislative Assembly positions.Odinga and Musyoka are among three nominees the National Super Alliance (Nasa) has selected for the EALA jobs. The decision to settle on the two nominees who are related to Nasa's top leadership was made on Wednesday, November 8, 2017.According to Suna East Member of Parliament and ODM Director of Elections, Junet Mohamed, who spoke to MediaMax, the opposition team will choose a third nominee at a later date.Earlier appointments of the two had brought divisions in the opposition after a section of legislators claimed the two co-leaders had nominated relatives without considering others in the alliance. The leader of Majority in the National Assembly Aden Duale noted that Jubilee party will select six nominees to the Assembly.

Two slots will be nominated by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.A joint select committee comprised of legislators from across the political divide will then pick the EALA members.
