Opposition leader Raila Odinga says the departure of Ex-Meru governor from opposition coalition NASA may not affect his performance in Meru region.

After a week of in the NASA coalition, Munya made unprecedented decision by pledging support to President Uhuru Kenyatta once again.

In an interview with KTN, Odinga however, described Munya as a ‘casualty’ in struggle adding that he will still score in Meru.

“I received a message from him and he was under immense struggle. I had no option other than to let him go. He is a victim in struggle.

“I don’t think the move will affect us because we scored a lot of votes in Meru and we are likely to even score more in October,” he added.

Although Munya’s stay in NASA was short-lived, he had commenced intensive campaigns in Meru region, a move that could have worried Uhuru.

Understandably, Munya’s exit from Jubilee team was precipitated by the outcome of Meru governorship elections.
